After arrival at Almaty International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your tour guide and driver. Early check-in at the hotel. Afterwards, time to rest and recover.

Day 2. Ashgabat City Tour (drive < 80 km)
After breakfast, you begin your city tour of Ashgabat together with your tour guide.
You will visit the National Museum, the spacious Independence Park, the iconic Neutrality Arch, and the magnificent Wedding Palace with its extraordinary architecture. The program also includes the Ferris wheel, Makhtumkuli Park, and the Earthquake Memorial Complex.
In the afternoon, return to the hotel and enjoy free time at leisure.

Day 3. Ashgabat – Mary (drive < 380 km)
In the morning, you depart together with your tour guide towards Mary. En route, you visit the ruins and the sanctuary of the Seyit-Jemaleddin Mosque, an important example of religious architecture from the 15th century.
Upon arrival in Mary, you will enjoy a short city exploration, depending on the available time. You will visit the Juma Mosque, the Orthodox Church, and the lively local bazaar, offering an authentic insight into everyday life in the region.
Afterwards, transfer to the hotel and time at leisure.

Day 4. Mary – Gonur – Mary (4WD vehicles, drive < 220 km)
In the morning, you depart together with your tour guide to Gonur Depe, the most important archaeological site of ancient Margiana (also known as Margush). Upon arrival, you enjoy a detailed exploration of this extensive site.
During your visit, you will discover the remains of an ancient city, including a palace complex, fire temples, residential quarters, and other archaeological structures, offering a fascinating insight into an oasis civilization more than 4,000 years old.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at Gonur.
In the afternoon, return to Mary and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5. Mary – Merv – Ashgabat (drive < 380 km)
After breakfast, you drive to the Historical Park of Ancient Merv (UNESCO World Heritage Site), one of the most important archaeological sites in Central Asia.
During your visit, you explore the vast area with its impressive monuments, including:
the Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar,

• the Great and Small Gyz Gala,
• Erk Gala and Gyaur Gala,
• several keshk fortresses,
• as well as the Mausoleum of Muhammad ibn Zaid and other historical structures.

After the extensive exploration, you drive back to Ashgabat.

Day 6. Ashgabat – Geok-Depe – Kow-Ata – Nokhur (4WD vehicles, drive < 150 km)
After breakfast, you take an excursion to the ancient site of Nisa (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and to the impressive Turkmenbashy Mosque with Mausoleum (also known as the Gypjak Mosque).
You then continue your journey towards the mountain village of Nokhur. En route, you stop at the Geok-Depe Mosque and at the underground lake Kow-Ata, where there is an opportunity to swim in the warm thermal waters.
In Nokhur, you visit the tribal cemetery, the Kyz-Bibi Sanctuary, and the ancient Chinar plane tree, which is considered sacred.

Day 7. Nokhur – Garrygala – Dehistan (4WD vehicles, drive < 300 km)
After breakfast, you drive via Garrygala to Dehistan. En route, you have the opportunity to explore the impressive Moon Mountains – an almost surreal landscape of colorful, bizarrely shaped hills.
Upon arrival, you visit the area historically known as Misrian. This site was once an important trading link between Khorezm, Persia, and the Arab lands, serving as a key junction along ancient caravan routes.

Day 8. Dehistan – Boyadag – Gozli-Ata (4WD vehicles, drive < 350 km)
After a simple camp breakfast, you continue your journey towards the pilgrimage site of Gozli-Ata. En route, you pass Boyadag, also known as the “Mountain of Colors” – a fascinating natural phenomenon and one of the largest mud volcanoes in the Balkan region near Gumdag.
In the afternoon, you arrive at Gozli-Ata, an important pilgrimage site renowned for its mystical atmosphere and spiritual significance.
Overnight either in tents or at the Gozli-Ata pilgrimage house.

Day 9. Gozli-Ata – Yangikala – Turkmenbashi (4WD vehicles, drive < 200 km)
Early in the morning, you drive to the impressive Yangikala Canyons. Here, white, green, and red limestone formations rise spectacularly from the desert sands. These colorful cliffs are the remains of a vast ancient coastline and the former seabed of the prehistoric Paratethys Sea.
After an extensive exploration of the canyons, you continue your journey to Turkmenbashi.
Transfer to the hotel and time at leisure.

Day 10. Turkmenbashi – Ashgabat (drive < 60 km)
In the morning, you visit the modern Awaza Resort on the Caspian Sea as well as the center of Turkmenbashi. During your walk, you see the Japanese Soldiers’ Cemetery from the Second World War and the lively fish bazaar, where fresh catch from the Caspian Sea is sold daily.
Afterwards, transfer to the railway station.
You take the train to Ashgabat (departure at 14:50, arrival the following morning at 05:35).

Day 11. Ashgabat – Darwaza (drive < 60 km, 4WD vehicles < 285 km)
After your arrival, you first enjoy breakfast at a local café. Afterwards, there is an opportunity to rest briefly in the hotel lobby before the day’s program begins.
You then start your city exploration, visiting the Carpet Museum, the impressive Ertogrul Ghazi Mosque, the Alley of Inspiration, and the lively Gulistan Bazaar.
After lunch, you depart for the Karakum Desert and drive to the famous Darwaza Gas Crater, widely known as the “Door to Hell.”
Upon arrival, you enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner near the burning crater – an unforgettable experience in the heart of the desert.

Day 12. Darwaza – Kunya-Urgench – Dashoguz – Ashgabat (4WD vehicles, drive < 340 km)
After a simple camp breakfast, you continue to the Historical Park of Kunya-Urgench (UNESCO World Heritage Site). During your visit, you explore the most important monuments of the former capital of the Khorezm Empire, including:
the Kutlug-Timur Minaret,

• the magnificent Mausoleum of Turabek-Khanum,
• the Tekesh Mausoleum,
• the Il-Arslan Mausoleum,
• as well as the historic caravanserai gate and other archaeological remains.

Afterwards, you proceed to Dashoguz Airport and fly to Ashgabat.

Day 13. Ashgabat (drive < 60 km)
After breakfast, you enjoy a half-day shopping tour in Ashgabat. You will have the opportunity to visit local markets and modern shopping centers, discover traditional handicrafts, and purchase souvenirs. Afterwards, transfer back to the hotel and time at leisure.

Day 14. Ashgabat (drive < 100 km)
In the morning, depending on the day of the week, you visit the Sunday Bazaar (open on Sunday, Saturday, and Thursday). You then drive to an Ahal-Teke horse farm, where you can see the noble Turkmen horses and, if desired, enjoy a riding experience.
To conclude the morning, you visit an art gallery displaying works by contemporary and traditional Turkmen artists.
Afterwards, transfer back to the hotel and free time at leisure.
