Day 1: Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum .
Embark on road trip to Kalai Khum village via impressive mountain way. It goes through Khoburubot Pass, reaching 3 252 m on the famous Western Pamir Tract. On the way, you will see magnificent beauty of mountain rivers and wide valleys. You will definitely have some stops to take some. En route, it is possible to see local people, and even talk with them. Tajik people are very warm-hearted, hardworking and friendly by the nature. Day 2: Kalai Khum – Khorog
Khorog is the smallest town surrounded with mountains from the all sides. Khorog is located on the crossroads of three river, where Shokhdara River and Ghund River join to Pyanj River. On the route to Khorog, you will see Pamir people, who differ from Tajik people. Most of the Pamiris are with blonde hair, light skin and blue eyes. The most exciting fact is that Pamir Mountains are second highest populated area after the Himalayas in Tibet. Therefore, the mountain life of the local people make them considerably different from Tajik people. Overnight in a guesthouse in Khorog.

Day 3: Khorog – Murgab
There is a popular saying in Pamir: “visiting these areas without coming to Murgab does not mean visiting Pamir” Murgab is the center of Pamir, therefore it is called the Rood of the World. Today, we will drive to famous Murgab town. Most of the mountains on the way are over 6 000 meters. Travelers, who visited this area often associate the amazing scenery of Murgab with the surface of the Moon. This comparison means that landscape is unique and hardly reachable. The elevation and isolation of this place is similar to Arctic climate. The weather is often characterized by dry air, short and cool summers and almost snowless, harsh, and freezing winters. After arrival to Murgab, rest in a guesthouse.

Day 4: Murgab – Yashil Kul Lake – Bulunkul Lake – Langar
There are many amazing alpine lakes in Pamir. In Murghab region it is found Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes), which located at the altitude of 3 700 m. The Bulunkul Lake changes its color according to the sunlight: from violet to dark-blue. Moreover, you will be lucky to see half-wild animals called yak. It is one kind of animal, which has characteristics of cow and sheep and long hair. Mostly local people keep yaks for milk and meat, because they do not need much care and easily survive live in the mountain conditions. The way to the lakes go through Naizatash pass (4 137 m). In the afternoon, drive to Langar. Overnight in a homestay.

Day 5: Langar – Khorog
Continue driving along the Tajik-Afghan border to Khorog village, which is situated in the middle of the Asia. The snow-capped majestic mountains, eternal glaciers, silver blue rivers, vast valleys, and endless deserts characterize famous Pamir Mountains. It is obvious why these mountains called as “the Roof of the World”. The average elevation of Pamir is between 3500 m and 4200 m. It is one of the high and rare place in the world; therefore, inhabitants of this place could preserve the real ethnic and cultural traditions. Moreover, high mountain terrain was the reason of difference in culture and languages of Pamir people. Overnight will be in guesthouse.

Day 6: Khorog – Kalai Khum
Today return to Kalai Khum, onthe same way. Because of the high mountains around, there is only one road goes through. Except the magnificent beauty of the Pamir, travelling through these areas provides an opportunity to learn more about the development of history, culture and life style of the mountain habitants. It gives a broad view to the history of the human beings evolved to the modern civilization. En route, possible to stop at tiny villages to meet local people and see their life by communicating with them. Most of the settlements are located on the both sides of the river, just on other side you will be able to see Afghan villages with stony gardens and houses. Night in a family homestay. It will be another opportunity to immerse rural life.

Day 7: Kalai Khum – Norak – Dushanbe
In the morning, depart to Dushanbe via Norak water reservoir. Today will be the last day driving along the Afghanistan border. You will enjoy the legendary Pamir Mountains. Today you will reach 2,267m at highest point, which is Shuraba Pass. The world’s most famous travelers like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar were impressed by these majestic mountains. The natural define of the Afghan-Tajik border is River Pyanj. Most of the explorers and travelers associated Pamir Mountain with the ocean of blue and white mountains. Arrive to city and check into a hotel.

Day 8: Dushanbe
Today id devoted to explore Dushanbe and area around it. City tour will represent Rudake Park, National library, White House, National State Seal, and House of Parliament. Then you will see the largest National Flag of the world- Tajik Flag pole, reaching 165 meters height, 60 meters width and 30 meters length. Following the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there will be detailed museum excursion at Central Museum. Afternoon, we will drive about 35 km from the city to visit Hissor fortress, dating back to VII–XVII centuries. During last centuries, this place used to be palace of representatives of Bukhara Emirate in Tajikistan. In the beginning, it was protected with high strong walls and even has many holes for guns and barrels. According to the archeological researches, there were a pool, a big garden and a busy market square with a caravan sarai and shops in the fort. However, today only two towers next to the main gate were saved. Other remarkable sites are “Madrasa I Kuhna” mosque dating back to 16th-17th centuries, the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” from16th century. These monuments were renovated recently.
