Central Asia Visa Guide
Most Central Asian countries have a visa-free regime for travelers. Citizens of most Western countries do not require a visa. However, visa requirements vary from country to country: citizens of some countries will require a visa to enter Central Asian countries. Depending on the nationality of the traveler, visas can be obtained at embassies in their home country, at a consulate in a neighboring country, or upon arrival at an international airport. In addition, some countries now offer e-visas that can be applied for online, which is usually cheaper and much faster.

The most hospitable state for travelers in Central Asia is Kyrgyzstan. Citizens of many countries do not need a visa to visit Kyrgyzstan for periods ranging from 30 days to indefinitely. Below is a list of countries that do not require a visa, as well as those that do.
Citizens of the following countries can stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for an unlimited amount of time:
Kyrgyzstan e-visas
Through www.evisa.e-gov.kg, citizens of all countries, including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, can apply for an e-visa from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Processing takes three days and the cost depends on the duration (30 to 90 days) and the number of entries. MasterCard and Visa cards are accepted.Please note that all border crossing points in Kyrgyzstan accept e-visas, with the exception of Madaniyat border crossing point (border with Uzbekistan) (border with Uzbekistan) and Karkira (border with Kazakhstan). At these checkpoints, it is necessary to present a visa obtained at the embassy.Registration in KyrgyzstanSome countries require their citizens to register at the district police stations (OVIR/OVD) within five days of arrival, including holidays and the day of arrival. Requesting a tourist visa to Uzbekistan through an embassy or consulate involves two processes:
Obtaining a visa certificate (Authorization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan)
Obtaining the visa at the airport or, in some situations, obtaining the visa at an embassy or consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The e-visa portal currently offers single-entry, double-entry and multiple-entry e-visas for citizens of several countries. The Immigration Service of the Republic of Turkmenistan issues tourist visas to Turkmenistan in response to an application from an authorized travel agency in Turkmenistan. The approval process typically takes three to four weeks. Without providing any justification, the Immigration Service maintains the discretion to reject a visa application. The Republic of Turkmenistan's embassy or consulate in the nation where the visitor will obtain their visa will receive a fax with their approved visa application.
