COVID-19 Latest updates Central Asia




Citizens planning travel abroad should take into account the ongoing risk of testing positive for COVID-19 while abroad and are advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance that includes COVID-19 cover.

Travel to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in 2023
There are no COVID-19 restrictions in place for travel to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. There is no requirement to present certificates of vaccination/testing for COVID-19.

However, entry requirements are subject to change at very short notice and travellers should exercise caution and seek a government source for the most recent entry requirements.

Travel to Tajikistan
There are COVID-related entry requirements for travellers to enter Tajikistan in 2023:
Each traveler aged three years and older must present either:
1) A COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they are fully vaccinated or
2) results from a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued within 72 hours of arrival or
3) results from a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point Vaccination status or test results will be verified before passengers are allowed to board flights to Tajikistan.
As far as you meet the first requirement, you do not have to prove a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) for entry.

Travel to Turkmenistan
Travellers of foreign countries are required to prove following COVID-related document to enter Turkmenistan;
1) A COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they are fully vaccinated and
2) results from a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued within 48 hours before arrival
